1. **Strong and Changing Lighting**: The intense sunlight can create high contrast and harsh shadows. The lighting changes rapidly throughout the day.
2. **Water Spray**: Water droplets on the lens can affect the image quality.
3. **Wind**: Strong winds make it difficult to keep the camera stable.
4. **Constant Movement**: Waves, people, and animals in motion make it hard to achieve proper composition and sharpness.
5. **Haze**: High humidity in the air can cause haze, affecting brightness.
6. **Light Reflection**: Reflections off the water or sand can create glare and reduce image clarity.

Taglit: This vessel once belonged to the Geological Survey of Israel. It formerly served as a floating laboratory from which measurement equipment and underwater robots were deployed to research the receding water levels, the formation of sinkholes, and the crystallization of salt layers on the seabed. This research ship constantly faced severe logistical challenges; the original pier where it used to dock in the Ein Gedi area has long since dried up, leaving it meters above the current water line.
Researchers were forced to repeatedly relocate its launch sites using 4×4 vehicles and heavy machinery just to continue tracking the lake’s extreme environmental shifts. This persistent effort continued until funding was depleted, and today, in 2026, it sits abandoned on the shores of the Dead Sea.
